At origin women are more often represented as labourers working in harvesting and sorting and less represented as decision makers or business owners. Which is why we want to shine a spotlight on this coffee blend from Brazil. This new harvest is a combination of 4 different coffees produced by 4 different women with different backgrounds, but all with the same objective: to produce better coffee.
Producers are Danielle Fronseca (Red Catuai), Laiz Figueiredo (Mundo Novo), Aline Codo (Red Catuai), and Raquel Joanne (Yellow Icatu). Danielle, is the founder of Flowins, a software developed for coffee producers in Brazil to better manage their crop, and better understand their market. This software is currently growing and reaching more producers within and outside their community. Flowins also allows us roaster to find information about the producer, such as which microlot, the yield, the coffee quality grading, etc. It provides transparency.
Every part of this coffee is made by women. From producer, to roasting, and even the label design have all been created by women. This coffee shows that women are increasingly present in the coffee industry, and reflects the power that women have when put together.
